The blistering-hot Jefferson Park Penguins put 4 runs on the scoreboard in the
1st inning and defeated the Dominican Republicans by a score of 7 to 4 at the
ballpark.
Bucky Jacobsen provided the offensive punch. He doubled bringing in a run in
the 1st inning, popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 3rd of the season)
in the 2nd inning and laced a base-hit in the 7th inning. For the game
Jefferson Park out-hit Dominican 12 to 6.
The victory went to Paul Wilson(6-4) who went 5 innings, allowing 4 runs.
Armando Benitez recorded the save, his 17th. Eric Milton(6-10) ended up with
the loss. Despite losing, he struckout 4 Jefferson Park batters in 1 and 2/3
innings.
Jefferson Park won for the 8th straight time. 'We've really come alive
lately,' Steve Seydell said. 'We won some tough games and I feel real good
about this ballclub right now, and hopefully we'll continue the roll we're
on.'
